Who We Are
To fulfill our philanthropic mission, we host, create, operate, or partner with organizations to execute a variety of outdoor recreational events in Northwest Arkansas. From world-class championship caliber races to fun outdoor family events, our objective is to position Arkansas as a premier outdoor recreation destination.

OUR LEADERSHIP
Michael Spivey
President & Chief Executive Officer
Mike has a 30-year career in both the private and public sector. Prior to starting the Foundation, he enjoyed an 18-year career with Walmart including six years as General Counsel for Walmart Africa. An avid endurance athlete, Mike has competed numerous long-distance marathons, cycling races and swim competitions including 5X finisher of Ironman competitions.
Daniel Trujillo
Chairman of the Board
Chief Compliance Officer, McKinsey & Company. Daniel is a global executive with 30 years of experience leading compliance, ethics, and legal departments. During his career, he has held numerous leadership roles in different industries and has worked in more than 70 countries worldwide, including Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the United States. Prior to joining McKinsey, Daniel worked with Walmart as part of its compliance-enhancement efforts and co-led its risk-management program. He also spent 15 years with Schlumberger Limited in various compliance, ethics, and governance roles. An avid multi-sport participant, Daniel has finished more than 35 70.3 and full Ironman distance triathlons.
Steve Gibbs
Foundation Treasurer
Chief Accounting Officer & Controller, The Home Depot. Steve has 20+ years of public accounting & treasury experience with Fortune 100 companies. An avid road, mountain and gravel cyclist, Steve believes that a positive mindset, fortitude, and willingness to fail in pursuit of your best performance, is the key to success in business, sport and life.
Jenn Dice
Board Member
President & CEO, PeopleForBikes. Jenn has nearly two decades of diverse professional experience in the cycling industry. Prior to her current role with People4bikes, Jenn was V.P. of the International Mountain Biking Association. Jenn has been leading the charge for bicycling, and is a strong voice for public lands protection, conservation efforts and women’s initiatives.
Kevin Igli
Board Member
SVP & Chief Sustainability Officer, Tyson Foods. Kevin has enjoyed a 30+ years as a thought leader in environmental sciences. An avid cyclist, Kevin also serves on a number of professional and trade organizations, including The Sustainability Consortium, The Nature Conservancy, Beaver Watershed Alliance, and Ozarks Water Watch.
Meredith Miller
Board Member
Director of Marketing, Shimano Corporation. Meredith is a former professional road and cyclo-cross racer. From 2009-14 she represented the United States in the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships. Meredith continues to compete in both cyclo-cross and road cycling events.
Gary Vernon
Board Member
Senior Program Officer, Walton Personal Philanthropy Group. Gary leads the bike and trail building initiatives for Tom & Steuart Walton’s personal foundation. Gary has a lifelong passion for cycling. His 30-year career with Walmart started with building bicycles during the Christmas holidays at a Walmart store in Joplin, Missouri. Since its inception in 2005, Gary has been instrumental in the the OZ Trails building project.
Christiane Pheil
Board Member
Senior Director of Marketing, Red Bull North America. A lifelong competitive athlete, Christiane has a distinguished career as a Div I tennis player, high school cross country and track standout where she was a state champion pole vaulter. In college, she added rugby to her athletic interests where she gained 3X All-American awards at Penn State. Christiane holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering .
Nick Gowen
Board Member
VP of Operations, J.B. Hunt Transport Services. Nick Gowen has enjoyed a 26+ year career with the Company. From a young age Nick was enamored with cycling. He loved the freedom it gave him as a child, the transportation it gave him in college, and the way it has always been a natural lifter of spirits whether on the roads or on the trails.
Dan Bartlett
Board Member
EVP of Corporate Affairs, Walmart. Dan Bartlett is responsible for government relations, communications, philanthropy and the company’s social responsibility and sustainability initiatives. Previously, he served in several high-ranking positions at the White House for President George W. Bush including speechwriting, the press office and office of communications.
Philip Sigsworth
Foundation Secretary
Chief Financial Officer, Art and Wellness Enterprises. Originally from Harare, Zimbabwe, Philip has more than 20 years as a finance executive, including senior finance executive roles at KPMG, Walmart Africa, Walmart USA, and Sam’s Club. In 2022, Philip was named CFO of Arts and Wellness Enterprises, the holding company to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Art Bridges, Whole Health Institute and Whole Health School of Medicine. He and his wife, Romy, are avid long-distance runners and triathletes, including marathon, 70.3 and full Ironman distances.
